Meet Olivia Ranseen. She’s a Sophomore double majoring in Environmental Management and Spanish. She works for School Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) as a Student Ambassador. As an ambassador she gives tours and speaks to prospective SPEA students about their majors and programs within the school. She feels that she has significantly improved “[her] ability to communicate effectively,” while also heightening her own social perceptiveness! She “enjoys giving tours to perspective students [because] it’s interesting to talk to them and see why they are interested in SPEA.”
Olivia is also very involved in campus life: She’s the president of Union Street Apartments, heavily involved in making IU Theatre and Drama properties more sustainable, and a few other on-campus clubs. With all of her other commitments, you wouldn’t think Olivia has much time to dream, but that’s where you’d be wrong! Her dream job would be to run an alpaca farm in South America! But before that she plans on teaching English in Latin America before going on to work as “an environmental consultant in the arts.”
We have absolutely no doubt Olivia will go on to do great things and we cannot wait to see where she will go and what she will do!
