Double majoring in Political Science and Germanic Studies while also double minoring in Kinesiology and Fitness Instruction, junior Maddie Mitchell is getting everything she can out of IU. She works at the Career Development Center as a part time receptionist, and she really enjoys it. In fact, she loves that she gets to “tal[k] to people all day! [She] gets to interact with everyone in the office and hears a little about their lives and how their day is going.” It’s obvious just by looking at her that Maddie’s smile is genuine. While working, she feels that her complex problem solving & critical thinking, along with multi-tasking skills, have really come in handy. “I do a lot of quick thinking on my feet, which is very valuable in the real world,” Maddie says. And while she’s currently working for at the CDC, she dreams of being a Supreme Court Justice but isn’t sure how plausible that will be. After graduation she sees herself in law school and 10 years down the road is a little too far for her crystal ball. Maddie is going to do some great things and we can’t wait to see how it all turns out!
