Marjorie Brewer is a senior elementary and special education major balancing school, her internship with the Hutton Honors College, and student-teaching. As an Extracurricular Programming Intern, Marjorie loves that while working at the Hutton Honors College she is able to “lear[n] new ideas and concepts [she] may not experience through [her] own major or career.” Her team work, time management, and communication skills have become more valuable than ever, and she’s working to polish them through student teaching and working for the Hutton Honors College. Although Marjorie is spending the semester student-teaching, her dream job entails a leadership role in the field of education as either an innovative teacher or researcher for a project that impacts educational policy. This description, she feels, aptly describes a university professor teaching future teachers, while also conducting research.
