Brandon Spahn knew he was going to pursue art since the early age of 13. He once created a banner for an online forum, and later in high school won a t-shirt design contest on an online art forum. Not surprisingly, he now creates and sells designs on his own website.
Brandon graduated from Indiana University in 2015 with a degree in informatics. During his college career, he studied with a cognate in graphic design and perfected his skills by interning for IU Athletics his senior year. Upon graduation, he did not immediately continue working with IU Athletics. Instead, he moved to Austin, Texas and began a job as a web developer. Dissatisfied with the route he had taken, when IU Athletics reached back out to offer him a position as a graphic designer, he immediately jumped on the offer. Today, Brandon works on graphics for the basketball, swimming and diving, softball, and volleyball teams. He works out of the Mark Cuban Center for Sports Media and Technology, which he says helps him produce even better content, as there is an in-house creative department that bounces ideas off one another.
As for the designs he sells on his own website, most of them he credits with being inspired by the music he listens to, which he says is mainly hip-hop. He uses his social media to promote his work, reaching an audience worldwide. You can follow him and his work at @brandonspahnart on Instagram.
