This past week I have started working on a new project that will take me some time to complete. It is the Ostrom Grant Project which was created in 2014. The program centers around interviews that discuss Elinor and Vincent Ostrom and their time and impact at IU Bloomington. Elinor and Vincent Ostrom were both American Political Economists and professors at Indiana University, and Elinor was the 2009 recipient of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences!
They both led interesting and successful lives and their impact was felt worldwide! The purpose of this project is to get a better understanding of their impact through oral history interviews with past students and colleagues.
The first step for me has been to go through all of the individual finding aids for each interview and review them. I also had to use the audio files to calculate the total running time for each individual interview. Eventually, I will be the one creating the finding aids in Archivespace!
