Hey alumni and friends,
We were finally able to perform yesterday morning!! We got up, ate a delicious breakfast, and rode the shuttle at 8am to get to Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts! After that we were taken to our dressing room which was this beautiful dance studio on the second floor that overlooked the mountains of Kingston!
Not only that but the breeze that we felt was aaaaaamazing! But anyway, we put our face on, got our hair did, dressed and warmed up! Then took some pretty awesome pics before showing Jamaica what we got!
While I was waiting to perform, I wasn’t as anxious as I had expected to be because the college truly protected and supported the arts. It made me feel at ease because they were accepting of our differences! But throughout the conference I also learned that we have a lot of common ground/ideals/motivations that keep us going. Not only that but I feel like that made my connection with the company much stronger. Our performance felt so surreal. This entire experience still feels unreal. Lol I just rhymed but I’ll stop:). Can’t wait to explore Kingston today!
Toodles?✌?
