My mentors have made me feel very comfortable working with the subjects that we see and have been patient when teaching me how to perform all of the tasks in my internship. They have been great in helping me learn more about what they do and how they got to where they are. I love working with them and my experience has been eye opening!
Kelsey Turner is a neuroscience major in the School of Science and is interning with Ms. Fisher.
The things that make me feel comfortable at my internship site are the subtle change in the dynamic of the lab. I feel accepted because now my PI asks me for computer help when he encounters difficulties, the lab assistant and I get along well and have insightful conversations every now and then, and the other student who works in the lab is in two of my classes so we’ve gotten to be pretty good friends.
Daniel Bose is a biology major in the School of Science and is interning with Dr. Mendonca in the Department of Radiation Oncology.
