Will there be other times for people who work 8am to 4pm-ish, and do not have lunch breaks?

Are spouses covered on IU insurance eligible for on-campus flu shots? If not, what are the options to get their flu shots covered through the insurance?

    • Mandy

Unless your spouse is also an IU employee, he/she is not eligible for any of the on campus flu shot clinics. However, he/she can get a flu shot in an off campus location.

Hello Kevin, It is an injectable quadravalent which means it has 4 viral stains, all killed, 2 influenza A and 2 influneza B. For additional related questions, please contact the Screening Nurse at 812-855-5002. Thanks!

I work near the service building where the clinic was scheduled for the 28th. However I didn’t receive the email announcement until the evening of the 29th.

    • Mandy

We’re sorry to hear this. The information was sent out to all involved a few weeks in advance, and the service building received flyers a week beforehand as well. The information also appeared in “Inside IU” and other campus newsletters as well. We do hope that you’ll be able to attend one of the other locations. The Cyberinfrastructure Building might be a good option, as it is close to the service building.

Appointments are best for the October 11-14 Health Center clinic. All other locations are walk-in. Thanks for asking!

    Hello,

I’m an employee of IU, and I cannot take the regular flu shot because it contains egg yolk. I am allergic to eggs. I understand that some pharmacy stores like Walgreens carry a vegan flu shot (called Flublok*).

Could you please let me know if it’s possible for me to come and get a shot of Flublok?

Thank you. I look forward to hearing from you.

P.S.: Details can be found at http://www.flublok.com/

So part-time employees have to pay full price, even if they have IU Health insurance or prepare food?

    • IU Health Center

Hi Amy, here’s what we have: “Employees, Graduate Appointees, Fellowship Recipients, and Retirees (under the age of 65) covered by an IU-sponsored medical plan (with valid medical plan ID card presented at time of immunization): No cost to you (paid for by the University)”

If you are an employee covered by an IU-sponsored medical plan, you should be good to go. Any other questions regarding your specific plan can be directed to your insurance provider. Thanks!
