Katherine Moynihan, technology manager at Indiana University Research and Technology Corp. will speak on a panel tomorrow, Aug. 9, during the PrePARE (Paths Afforded by the Regional Enterprise) Conference in Indianapolis.
The weeklong professional development conference is funded by the National Science Foundation. The audience is doctoral students and postdocs who are part of the NSF Science and Technology Centers.
Moynihan will speak on a panel about non-faculty career paths for scientists.
“I find career mentoring to be very rewarding, having run the graduate student/postdoc internship program at the University of Michigan Technology Transfer Officer before joining IURTC,” she said. “Similar to my experience in graduate school, I find that many students are not well informed about the non-faculty job possibilities, or the organizations and industries that rely on them. Giving back to others is part of the foundation of IURTC’s success, and I look forward to sharing my experiences, advice and insights to this audience.”
